One trusted version of customer, product, supplier and finance data.
Agilus designs and implements master data management (MDM) for enterprises: consolidating the records that matter most — customers, products, suppliers, employees, chart of accounts — into a single governed source of truth that every system and report draws from. MDM is the Reference & Master Data knowledge area of DAMA-DMBOK2, and it is the foundation almost every analytics and AI ambition stands on.
How bad master data costs you money
- The same customer exists four times, so their credit exposure is understated and their marketing consent is contradictory.
- The same supplier is paid through three vendor records, so early-settlement discounts are missed and fraud screening is blind.
- Product data differs between the ERP and the e-commerce platform, so stock decisions are made on two versions of reality.
- Every report begins with a fortnight of manual reconciliation — every month, forever.
Master data management exists to make one statement true: for every customer, product and supplier, there is exactly one governed record, and every system agrees on it.
What our MDM engagement delivers
Master data assessment and domain strategy
Which domains hurt most — customer, product, supplier, finance — measured, prioritised and sequenced. Scored against DAMA-DMBOK2 via DM360.
Matching, de-duplication and the golden record
Profiling, standardisation, matching and survivorship rules that consolidate duplicates into a defensible golden record — powered by DM360.
Governance of master data
Ownership, stewardship and change control per domain, so the estate stays clean after the project ends. For supplier and vendor data specifically, Supplier360 keeps the domain governed continuously
Integration and syndication
The clean record published back to every consuming system — ERP, CRM, warehouse, reporting — so the single version of the truth is actually the version in use.
Common questions
What is master data management?
Master data management (MDM) is the discipline of creating and maintaining a single, trusted, governed record for an organisation’s most important shared data — typically customers, products, suppliers, employees and financial reference data — and ensuring every system uses it. It is the Reference & Master Data knowledge area of the DAMA-DMBOK2 framework.
What is a golden record?
A golden record is the single authoritative version of a master data entity, assembled from the best-quality attributes across all source systems using matching and survivorship rules. Once created, it is governed — changes flow through defined stewardship, not ad-hoc edits in individual systems.
What is the difference between master data and a data warehouse?
Master data is the shared reference data about business entities (who the customer is); a data warehouse is where transactional history is consolidated for analysis (what the customer did). A warehouse built on unmastered data faithfully aggregates duplicates — which is why MDM usually needs to come first.
How long does an MDM implementation take?
A single-domain MDM implementation — supplier or customer — typically takes three to six months from assessment to a governed golden record in production. Multi-domain programmes are sequenced domain by domain rather than attempted at once.
